from the area had been readily available in the late 70's, the Soviet invasion of that country greatly reduced
exports. In 1985, an Afghan refugee told Nevil the (cannabis) fields around Mazar-i-Sharif were being
destroyed. ""That was what I needed to hear"" says Nevil, "" I caught the next plane to Pakistan to save the
strain"""
"""After being smuggled into a refugee camp in Peshawar while lying on the floor of a car, Nevil made contact
with a 30-year old Muslim fanatic who had a throbbing vein that ran from between his eyes straight up to his
forehead. The man took a lump of black hash out of his pocket and told Nevil that it had been processed by
his uncle, a man known as Mister Hashish. Surrounded by four men pointing machine guns at him, Nevil set
about negotiating with Mr. Hashish, a Mujahedin commander, and finally persuaded him to send a squad of
his men 280 miles into Soviet occupied territory and come back with two kilos of healthy Mazari seeds.
Nevil added "" He thought I was ridiculous because I didn't want to buy hashish or opium. Nobody had ever
come out to buy seeds, and at first he had no idea what I was talking about. I tried there trying to explain
genetics to this tribal hash leader in sign language. When he finally figured out what I wanted, he asked too
much money. I took a zero off his price and gave him 10% up front. He called me a bandit, but I had the

"If you got the real stuff from serious, the trick will be remaining patient while those babies mature. My AK-47
seeds produced two outstanding mothers, each of which are about the best smoke I or any of my friends
have ever had (plus a few other very interesting plants).
My seedlings didn't show a lot of vigor, but that may have been from overwatering on my part - I was
completely new at the whole thing. They tend to be pretty sativa in appearance, though I did get a couple of
slightly indica types. They show preflowers at about six weeks, and do best topped back before flowering.
They grow a lot, and stretch if you're not careful with them. My best smoking mothers weren't great yielders,
but they were tall. Just not great branching. Best to grow them SOG with tight spacing. Although I did get one
mother that branched like crazy, but the buds were stringy and stemmy and I won't be growing her out again."
"I never had any problems with infestations or nutrients. You can give them high nutrient doses and they do
fine. Flowering time tends to be long, between 56-70 days, depending on the mother, although you can go
short, but it hurts the yield. Yields in general were not great, but then neither is my growing technique and
experience. Others report pretty good yields from what I hear.
The high is just plain supreme. Very up, cerebral, but smooth and completely non-paranoid. No racing. My
musi The plants build up alkaloids during dry seasons
and draw upon them for growth when the rains come. If the plants are harvested
during or after a wet spell, the alkaloid content may have dropped below 50
percent. If you have a soil test kit, you can get a good indication of the potency of
cacti growing wild. If the soil is rich in nitrogen, the plants are likely to be rich in
alkaloids.
When harvesting peyote, many people uproot the entire plant. This is
unnecessary and wasteful. The roots contain no mescaline. Some of these plants
have taken a long time to reach their size. A cactus three inches in diameter may
be more than 20 years old. To collect peyote properly the button should be
cleanly decapitated slightly above ground level. When the roots are left intact
new buds will form where the old was removed. These will eventually develop
into full-size buttons which may be harvested as before. Faulty harvesting
method have seriously depleted populations of this cactus. Because of the
presence of several phenolic alkaloids peyote cacti do not spoil easily and may
be kept in their fresh form for several weeks after harvesting. If they are to be
kept longer than this they must be refrigerated, frozen, or dried. The enzymes
which cause the harvested plant to eventually decompose also destroy the
mescaline and other alkaloids. To dry peyote buttons lay them out in the hot sun
or in an oven at 250 degrees F until completely devoid of moisture.
OTHER PEYOTE-TYPE CACTI OF CENTRAL MEXICO
There are several cacti which are used by the Tarahumares and other tribes of
central Mexico as substitutes for peyote. Many of these cacti are now under
investigation for their alkaloidal content and sychopharmacological activity.
Progress is somewhat retarded in the studies of the effects of these plants
because almost all experimentation has been conducted on laboratory animals
rather than humans. Some of these cacti have been found to contain mescaline
and other related alkaloids with known sympathomimetic properties. Much further
research is needed on these plants and their activity. However, we will attempt to
bring the reader up to date on what is known about them at this time.
PEYOTILLO:
This small cactus is botanically called PELECYPHORA ASELLIFORMIS. It is
also known sometimes as the hatchet cactus because of its oddly flattened
tubercules. It is often found growing in the state of San Louis Potosi in central
Mexico. The plant contains traces of mescaline too minute to have any effect. It
also contains small amounts of anhalidine, anhaladine, hordenine, Nmethylmescaline,
pellotine, 3-demethyltrichocereine, B-phenethylamine, Nmethyl-
B-phenethylamine, 3,4-dimethoxy-B-pheneththyl-amine, N-methyl-3,4-
dimethoxy-B-phenethylamine, and 4-methoxy-B-phenethy- lamine. Most of these
are found in peyote but in much larger quantities.
TSUWIRI:
The botanical name of this cactus is ARIOCARPUS RETUSUS. The Huichol
name tsuwiri means F Bubble is available for 150 NLG and has 22 seeds. This has to do with low
germination rates at the last tests and making up for that. I don't know
the one Adam sells personally, but do know that they derive from the same
genetic background. It took a while before I was pleased with the product
and there was also a personal thing involved, with the person who brought
the genetics over to Holland. I waited till that was resolved to
satisfaction." - Simon, owner of Serious Seeds, Amsterdam While I'm not going to say that Big Bud isn't a good strain, it's not as
citral magical as many people seem to think.
The main problem is the name, Big Bud, everyone expects massive buds.
Canabis They are big, but not significantly
larger than many other top strains. The potency is good but not knock you off your feet good.
citral There is huge
variations from plant to plant, some are

typical(of high quality strains).
Overall, a good plant as
citral long as you don't expect miracles.
I just finished a
bowl of it myself. the smell unless
you have some form of an EXTRACTOR FAN or an OZONE
GENERATOR (Figure 4.1).
Figure 4.1 - This is a home made Ozone Generator. Picture by
Shipperke.
In some indoor set-ups a fan can be used to extract any
unwanted smell away from the corridor outside. It can be pumped
through a window or filter to another area where the smell will not be
noticed. Not only that but plants love fresh air and wind, so the fan can
do two things at once for you. An ‘Ozone Generator’ is a device that
can be purchased from most grow shops. It helps to get rid of cannabis
odor problems.
111
Apart from the smell problem the other problem you will have
is with fires. Now this is a very important thing to know about. Some
people growing indoors tend to use very shoddy lights with even
shoddier fixtures.
NEVER EVER USE ANY LIGHTING KIT AND FIXTURES
THAT ARE DAMAGED OR NOT SUITABLE FOR INDOOR
GROWING.
Many people have lost their homes because of this problem.
Taking short cuts with lighting and electricity is a big no no. I have
heard off and met many people who have come home only to find a
fire brigade outside who have just finished putting out the fire which
engulfed part of the house. The same thing happens in every case. The
grower gets closer and sees a number of police officers looking around
the room. The fire officer points to the cause of the fire - a half melted
light fixture with burnt out sockets. The officer looks around and sees
the plants all crispy and black. They both know what this is all about.
Why do they know? Because they have seen it a hundred times before.
New Marijuana growers nearly always make the mistake of
creating inferior lighting set-ups. Needless to say that this is because of
three things. (1) They don’t have the right information because of
government censorship laws. (2) They do not have the money to invest
in a proper lighting system. (3) They just want to grow their pot quick
and fast and cheaply. We will discuss proper lighting systems in
112
another chapter.
OUTDOOR SECURITY
As we have said before the best way to secure your outdoor
garden plants is via a shelter. One must also remember that some
outdoor plants do smell and this can carry over a short distance given
the right wind and the right climate. Most people would not know
what the smell is but some DO! Many growers get around this problem
by growing cannabis plants that have very little smell during
flowering. These types of strains are listed by most seed-banks. Again
you should ask about strains that have low smell levels. All Cannabis
plants smell to some degree during flowering.

questions. If and only if we remember two methodological qualifications will our analysis
of the responses be meaningful:
1. The form of the study instrument—open-ended or forced choice—gives us results
that are superficially different (the magnitude of the responses, for instance), but
fundamentally the same (the order of the responses).
2. Individuals who do not mention a given effect on our open-ended question are not
thereby automatically agreeing that marijuana does not have that effect on
them—they just did not think of it at that moment in that situation ( although we do
have a certain amount of confidence that those who did not mention the effect were

less likely to experience it than those who did mention it).
Overviewing the responses elicited, we see that there are over 200 totally distinct
effects described. (We have presented only those which ten or more subjects mentioned;
there are almost 150 effects each of which was mentioned by fewer than ten respondents.)
Sixty-four of these were proffered by single individuals, completely idiosyncratic
responses that could not in any way be classified with other responses which were
somewhat similar. For instance, one individual said that she had the feeling of "being
sucked into a vortex." Another reported more regular bowel movements while intoxicated.
A third said that she could feel her brains dripping out of her ears. In addition to the sixtyfour
unique and therefore totally unclassifiable responses, there were twenty-eight where
only two respondents agreed that marijuana had that effect on them. However valid these
responses might be to the individual himself, they are not useable to us, since they are still
quite idiosyncratic.
Although the diversity of the responses was in itself an interesting finding, the picture
was not totally chaotic. Each individual offered an average of roughly ten different effects
of the drug as a description of the high. Some of these effects were offered independently
by a large percentage of the interviewees although, curiously, none attracted a majority;
every effect described was given by a minority of the sample. That is, in spite of the huge
diversity in the responses, some agreement prevailed.
Marijuana users seem to describe the effects of the drug in overwhelmingly favorable
terms. Certainly the vast majority of the effects mentioned would be thought positive if
the judge did not know that marijuana touched off the state in question. Let us suppose
that we have been told that the list characterizes how some people react to a warm spring
day; our sense would be that they think well of its effects. Thus, most of the
characteristics of the marijuana high, as described by its users, would be looked at as
beneficial. Yet with the knowledge that the triggering agent was marijuana, the judge
reinterprets his favorable opinion and decides I created a 'goblet' effect outwards around the top of the wire-tube, and this stopped the damage. Having been eaten back

PROPAGATION
What is propagation?
Propagation: 1 The action of breeding or multiplying by natural
processes; procreation, generation, reproduction. 2 The action of
spreading an idea, practice, etc., from place to place. 3 Increase in
amount or extent; enlargement; extension in space or time.
Propagation is 'The Grow'. However most people treat
propagation as the actual events occurring between the planting of the
seed and the transplant of that seedling to the main grow environment.
Here we will treat propagation as the entire process of growing from
seed to harvest. Propagation also includes the logistics of the grow.
So what are you going to do? Are you going to buy a batch of
10 seeds and grow them all in one go? Are you going to then kill the
males and just smoke the females? Are you going to keep the
Northern Lights males
and produce more seeds from the females? How many seeds can a
female plant produce? Should I plant my 10 seeds in one go? What
should I do to guarantee that all my seeds will grow? These are the
questions that you should be asking before you begin to grow and this
is where propagation logistics comes into play. The answers depend
largely on the size of your grow area and what your budget is.
Let’s say we have about $200/£180 to spend on seeds. We can
78
buy an expensive strain like a G13 cross and then we can grow the
G13 and produce more seeds from it. We can get anything between
100 and 2000 seeds depending on plant size and grow conditions. If
we grow this season for 4 months and at the end produce a lot of seeds
then we may never need to buy seeds for this strain again.
There is something else we can do called - CLONING.
Figure 3.1 - Here are some clones by Slowhand.
This is a technique whereby we can grow a number of plants
and select a good female.
Then we can take cuttings from that female
mother plant and grow these cuttings into new plants. Clones always
keep the same sex and vigor of the mother plant. It is also possible to
79
create a garden of plants that will last for decades through cloning
from a single female mother plant. Cloning is discussed in detail in a
later chapter
For the new grower it is advised that you buy 10 seeds and
only germinate 3 the first time followed by another 3 the following
week followed by the last 4 in two weeks after
Cannabis news Cannabis that. This will allow you
some degree of experimentation as you may fail on your first attempt
to germinate the seeds because of lack of any previous cannabis
growing experience.
For people who have germinated seeds once before in the
past, it is advised th s are well mixed in the spore
syringe. Often, it takes several tries to get the spores fully broken apart
and well mixed.
If the spores in the print have been dried and are not fresh, it is best to
wait six hours to use the spore syringe. The spores need to rehydrate. If
your in a hurry, the spores can still rehydrate in the culture jars.
How to Make a Spore Print
Once you have a mature mushroom, you are in a position to make a
spore print and use it to continue cultivation of mushrooms. The cap
should be harvested when the mushroom cap has become flat or is
starting to invert.
Sterility is key. Adaptation-25 Be careful not to do anything that will
compromise the sterility of your spore print. The typical procedure is
to cut the stalk off of a mature mushroom very close to the cap. A
sterilized knife or razor blade is used to do this. The cap is then laid on
a sterile piece of tissue paper or card stock and a small glass set over it.
The glass is needed for two reasons. First, it keeps the spore print
insulated from airborne contaminates. Secondly, it helps keep the
humidity high so the mushroom cap can continue to live and drop its
spores. One note of caution. Some humidity usually needs to be

How To Grow Magic Mushrooms The Magic Mushroom Growers Guide (page 3)
allowed to escape. You want the environment inside the glass to be
slightly less humid than the environment in which the mushroom was
grown. If you have problems getting a cap to drop its spores, try using
a piece of paper for the print that fits entirely inside the glass and
spreading out a wash cloth flat on the table. Let the edge of the glass
seal to the wash cloth instead of the paper. This will usually allow
enough humidity to escape to cause the cap to drop spores.
If everything goes well, after a day or two the cap will drop its spores.
Adaptation-26 There will be a purple-brown dust underneath the cap.
These are the spores.
Eye glass lens paper is good source of sterile tissue paper. A box of
waxy tissue paper that deli's use to pick up donuts and rolls is another
excellent source of sterile tissue paper. Card stock (such as a recipe
card) is a bit easier to use later when you want to prepare a spore
syringe, but you have to expend the extra effort up front to sterilize it.
To use card stock, place in a 425 degree F. oven for 15 minutes. Let it
cool with a glass over it before you place the cap on it.
Once you have a spore print on the paper, remove the glass and cap.
Fold the spore print in half and seal the edges so air can not get in. A
piece of scotch tape on each side will do nicely. The spores will stay
viable for 18 months if they are kept in a cool, dry and dark spot. If
you place a small amount of desiccant in the bottom of a film container
and place a cotton ball on top of the desiccant, you have an ideal
container to keep the spore print. The cotton ball will keep the
desiccant from touchi Northern Lights

When I cut the bud at 37 days with the 50% withered flowers I test smoked it with a buddy on a ride. He

after a while. The other thing that wasn’t too impressive from it was the staying power of the buzz.
Now the buds harvested later were a completely different story. Mature buds have a unique buzz. It’s
definitely not couch lock weed but you can find comfort in your big buddy if you want to. It starts like a sativa

verbalize those thoughts without difficulty ;-) This is a social indica."

is to life, I guess ;-) If I were still growing for dough I would love this plant and will keep it in case I get back
into the game someday.
Yo money tree folks… people like the looks and smell of this weed. I don't have any other comments on the
buzz yet but will include them in the additional T44 info that will be given in the next Flo Sheet.” – flick"
"“This variety is a Cheyenne Indica with a skunky influence, for lovers of fragrant weed with a strong buzz.
Take this girl just before bed and have a seductively sedative session. Her name was derived from her
stupefying qualities. Gag me with a bud."
"“A pure variety, never hybridized, imported from Afghanistan, grown in Holland. Very broad leaves, 100%
Indica. Heavy buds with lots of resin. Some plants turn purple at harvest time. Rather high flower to leaf ratio.
Aroma and flavor are heavy, almost medicinal. Very strong, physical, practically narcotic high. Average yields."
"“The Afghani part is a very short Christmas tree-like plant, 100% Indica, very resinous and very consistent. The

Some humidity usually needs to be

allowed to escape.
The cotton ball will keep the

seeds. No more. Blueberry in 65 days budding time produced 1.8 Oz per s.f., with 55 watts per s.f., vented
highly. The strength and the taste were a 10 on 1-10 with skunk #1 being a 5. This indoor hybrid has a high calyx/leaf ratio & finishes flowering in

They're funny plants when it comes to cuttings.
They seem to be much slower to take than most, but the huge
amount of vigor that is inherent in the breed means that the cuts don’t die- they just hang around and don't
do much. I took cuttings of my over-wintering mother which took about 3 weeks to take- during this time, the
cuts didn’t look ill, and didn’t grow, they just 'existed'. The mother plant doesn’t do well indoors- mine seemed
to get Male Canabis Leaves freaked out and started to flower.
It flowered though most of winter, then suddenly decided to revert, I
don’t know why.
C88 is the best so far. It has blown the socks off every Dutch variety I've grown for all around goodness.” – flwr

MrSoul While the 5-HT precursors tryptophan and 1-5-HTP cause an increase in serum prolactin concentration, a combination of 1-5-HTP with a peripheral decarboxylase inhibitor was
flowering time of big bud x skunk1
found to reduce the serum prolactin concentration. This combination seemed to behave like a DA agonist. This effect is not produced by the decarboxylase inhibitor per se. A possible explanation is that 5-HTP is converted to 5-HT in CA-ergic neurons, that 5-HT supersedes the CA from the stores, and that some of the CA reach the synaptic cleft and stimulate CA receptors. Another possible explanation is that 5-HTP decarboxylase is centrally inhibited as well, and that an effect of 5-HTP itself is involved here. In view of the observations made it is doubtful whether the therapeutic
