While the 5-HT precursors tryptophan and 1-5-HTP cause an increase in serum prolactin concentration, a combination of 1-5-HTP with a peripheral decarboxylase inhibitor was found to reduce the serum prolactin concentration. This combination seemed to behave like a DA agonist. This effect is not produced by the decarboxylase inhibitor per se. A possible explanation is that 5-HTP is converted to 5-HT in CA-ergic neurons, that 5-HT supersedes the CA from the stores, and that some of the CA reach the synaptic cleft and stimulate CA receptors. Another possible explanation is that 5-HTP decarboxylase is centrally inhibited as well, and that an effect of 5-HTP itself is involved here. In view of the observations made it is doubtful whether the therapeutic effect of 5-HTP combined with a peripheral decarboxylase inhibitor in depressions and myoclonus can in fact be atributed to activation of central serotonergic systems. beled a "dangerous
drug." Not all cannabis advocates will agree on this question, but the range of opinion will
be relatively narrow, at least as compared with the other side. The radical position is that
the drug is completely innocuous, harmless in every conceivable way: "... marijuana... is in
all respects socially useful, and absolutely nonaddictive. We defy anyone to produce a
shred of evidence that marijuana. .. produces at any time any adverse, depressive, or toxic
effect."4] (The "completely innocuous" position is not to be taken absolutely literally,
since an "overdose" of water may prove to be fatal; what is meant is that cannabis presents
no dangers beyond such commonly accepted substances as coffee, tea aspirin, wine, and
food.) The most conservative pro-pot position is that the drug may, given an unfavorable
setting or taken by an unstable personality, precipitate a temporary state which could, by
some definition, conceivably be labeled as something potentially dangerous. In general,
users do not take the propagandized "dangers" of the drug seriously, since they have spent
hundreds and thousands of hours high, and have seen dozens of others high, with little or
no ill effect.
There is more-or-less complete agreement on the relative harm of the drug: that
marijuana is, for instance, far less dangerous than liquor.5] Another comparison often
made is that marijuana is less (or no more) dangerous than driving an automobile. Both of
these arguments are open to empirical test and could, conceivably, be supported or refuted
with data.
The alcohol-marijuana comparison carries a great deal of weight among potheads. They
feel that they have a solid case for the irrationality of the marijuana prohibition if liquor is,
in fact, more dangerous than their own choice of drug. They contend that drinking carries
with it very real dangers (although a high proportion of marijuana smokers also drink,
very few do so heavily), whereas marijuana is, at worst, no more dangerous, and at best,
completely innocuous. "... alcohol is frequently productive of a hangover, cirrhosis of the

Marijuana Newsletter, a one-time organ of LEMAR, in a vigorous effort to urge defiance
of the marijuana statutes.
A marijuana user, in fact, feels a sense of superiority to the liquor drinker, a feeling that
can be labeled moral, ideological and cultural snobbery. There is the faint hint of religious
zeal in claiming a convert, of winning proselyte from "lush." The fact that so many young
Americans once involved with alcohol are becoming "heads" is confirmation to the
potsmoker that his intoxicating agent is spiritually preferable. The marijuana user will
refer to the liquor drinker in condescending terms as lacking in style, sophistication,
imagination, polish, subtlety, and taste. He is gross, obn

“This strain may be the "Holy Grail". The result of painstakingly backcrossing a VERY RARE female to her male
progeny over 3 generations. This hybrid was specifically bred for indoor cultivation. Short statured & heavily
branched, this plant grows LONG, dense colas with an EXTREMELY high flower/leaf ratio and OUTRAGEOUS resin
production. The breeder has observed a "giant leap" in potency with each progressive generation and, as
expected, Cinderella 99 has topped all previous results - her high is heavily influenced by Haze; clear, energetic
& devastatingly psychoactive. A plant with all of the above is rare enough, but Cinderella 99 finishes flowering
after a scant 50 days of 12/12! Above-average yields of crystal covered buds reeking of tropical fruit aromas can
be harvested every other month once a mother plant is selected and asexually propagated. One final accolade -
preliminary results from the breeder indicate Cinderella 99 will breed true..." -Brothers Grimm seedbank “After years of heartfelt requests for a Northern Lights strain, Sagarmatha has engineered a superior version of
the NL legend. NL#9 delivers the finest qualities expected from that variety: a short plant with a voracious
stone and minimal smell. The flowering time is acceptable and fat chunky nugs can be expected. Fantastic for
gardens where smell is an unfavorable factor. Also fine for persons who desire a heavy, lethargic stone.
“The Big Bud was the same as usual. The buds are large for sure, but this strain just doesn’t do it for me. They
reached about 15 inches in height and yielded at least an ounce each. I've grown this strain 2 times before
and to be honest I thought it came out poorly originally because they were my first crops, but even this latest
batch, which was grown and dried as perfect as I have ever done, still pales as far as potency goes. This will be
the last time I take up space with this strain.” – James Hetfield This hybrid is the pinnacle of achievement in Cannabis breeding today. The result: an extremely potent plant
with a great Sativa high. In the 1994 harvest festival this variety was miles ahead of its competitors. The high
yields compensate for the slightly longer flowering period. Hybrid vigour provides for lush growth, heavy bud
formation and abundant resin. A true champion!
“Winner of the Cannabis Cup in 1989. Mostly Indica. All plants have guaranteed high yields, 25% has

The only side effect reported by the subjects taking 5-HTP was stomachache, of which there were 41 instances during the entire three-year trial. In the placebo group, there were only 10 instances of stomachache, but also 118 instances of nausea and 78 of abdominal pain. This
Sk 1 Cannabis Flowering Time is not inconsistent with the very few side effects other studies have reported by those taking 5-HTP. These results may be explained by 5-HTP's ability to reduce hypersensitivity to pain. Moreover, in the study, eosinophilia (elevation of the special white blood cells associated with inflammation) was not reported in the 5-HTP group; in the control group, there was one case. Chapter 3
PROPAGATION
What is propagation?
Propagation: 1 The action of breeding or multiplying by natural
processes; procreation, generation, reproduction. 2 The action of
spreading an idea, practice, etc., from place to place. 3 Increase in
amount or extent; enlargement; extension in space or time.
Propagation is 'The Grow'. However most people treat
propagation as the actual events occurring between the planting of the
seed and the transplant of that seedling to the main grow environment.
Here we will treat propagation as the entire process of growing from
seed to harvest. Propagation also includes the logistics of the grow.
So what are you going to do? Are you going to buy a batch of
10 seeds and grow them all in one go? Are you going to then kill the
males and just smoke the females? Are you going to keep the males
and produce more seeds from the females? How many seeds can a
female plant produce? Should I plant my 10 seeds in one go? What
should I do to guarantee that all my seeds will grow? These are the
questions that you should be asking before you begin to grow and this
is where propagation logistics comes into play. The answers depend
largely on the size of your grow area and what your budget is.
Let’s say we have about $200/£180 to spend on seeds. We can
78
buy an expensive strain like a G13 cross and then we can grow the
G13 and produce more seeds from it. We can get anything between
100 and 2000 seeds depending on plant size and grow conditions. If
we grow this season for 4 months and at the end produce a lot of seeds
then we may never need to buy seeds for this strain again.
There is something else we can do called - CLONING.
Figure 3.1 - Here are some clones by Slowhand.
This is a technique whereby we can grow a number of plants
and select a good female. Then we can take cuttings from that female
mother plant and grow these cuttings into new plants. Clones always
keep the same sex and vigor of the mother plant. It is also possible to
79
create a garden of plants that will last for decades through cloning
from a single female mother plant. Cloning is discussed in detail in a
later chapter
For the new grower it is advised that you buy 10 seeds and
only germinate 3 the first time followed by another 3 the following
week followed by the last 4 in two weeks after that. This will allow you
some degree of experimentation as you may fail on your first attempt
to germinate the seeds because of lack of any previous cannabis
growing experience.
For people who have germinated seeds once before in the
past, it is advised th “Bank: Positronics

misery. Ended up with 1 female, 5 males, and 3 herms.

grew like chit. Very airy bud with little resin and a lot of leaf. The buzz made it worth keeping for a harvest from
clone one time to see Legalise Cannabis if it could redeem itself. Because the buzz got better it was given one more chance even
though it still showed male flowers, not a lot but too many. The second time grown from clone it showed male
flowers again and didn’t improve much in quality or growth. So now it’s dead.
To be fair it could be that this plant just couldn’t handle being flowered so early and freaked, doubtful but

but nothing all that special. IMHO the silver pearl will be thes more complex than most indicas. Grows short, yield
fairly low, matures from 50-60 days. There’s much variation in this strain, so grow as many as you can to
select your favorite. Be glad to answer any specific questions.” –stix"
"“Received Sensi Star through HS, 10:10 for germination.
All very uniform looking plants. Ended up with 4
females, all short, very vigorous and dense in growth. I put them into bud after 4 weeks under floros when
they were about 12-14"". All had minimal stretching under my 1000w hps and using CO2 with temps in 75-85
range.
Out of my 4 females, one had a mold problem at 6 weeks and the other 3 are about 2 and a half feet
tall and ready to harvest any day. They have huge, very dense, THC covered buds. I have never seen better.
A great indoor plant that seems to have great commercial value.” -Brends"

than the Shiva Skunk®. Excellent indoor and greenhouse results. Plants exhibit frosted resinous
characteristics of the Northern Lights 5® and the sweetness and calyx-to-leaf ratio of Early Pearl / Skunk.
One of our favourites and in 1994 the winner of the mixed Indica/Sativa category.

progeny over 3 generations.
One final accolade -
preliminary results from the breeder indicate Cinderella 99 will breed true..." -Brothers Grimm seedbank Friend

syringe. Often, it takes several tries to get the spores fully broken apart
and well mixed.
If the spores in the print have been dried and are not fresh, it is best to
wait six hours to use the spore syringe. The spores need to rehydrate. If
your in a hurry, the spores can still rehydrate in the culture jars.
How to Make a Spore Print
Once you have a mature mushroom, you are in a position to make a
spore print and use it to continue cultivation of mushrooms. The cap
should be harvested when the mushroom cap has become flat or is
starting to invert.
Sterility is key. Adaptation-25 Be careful not to do anything that will
compromise the sterility of your spore print. The typical procedure is
to cut the stalk off of a mature mushroom very close to the cap. A
sterilized knife or razor blade is used to do this. The cap is then laid on
a sterile piece of tissue paper or card stock and a small glass set over it.
The glass is needed for two reasons. First, it keeps the spore print
insulated from airborne contaminates. Secondly, it helps keep the
humidity high so the mushroom cap can continue to live and drop its
spores. One note of caution. Some humidity usually needs to be

allowed to escape. You want the environment inside the glass to be
slightly less humid than the environment in which the mushroom was
grown. If you have problems getting a cap to drop its spores, try using
a piece of paper for the print that fits entirely inside the glass and
spreading out a wash cloth flat on the table. Let the edge of the glass
seal to the wash cloth instead of the paper. This will usually allow
enough humidity to escape to cause the cap to drop spores.
If everything goes well, after a day or two the cap will drop its spores.
Adaptation-26 There will be a purple-brown dust underneath the cap.
These are the spores.
Eye glass lens paper is good source of sterile tissue paper. A box of
waxy tissue paper that deli's use to pick up donuts and rolls is another
excellent source of sterile tissue paper. Card stock (such as a recipe
card) is a bit easier to use later when you want to prepare a spore
syringe, but you have to expend the extra effort up front to sterilize it.
To use card stock, place in a 425 degree F. oven for 15 minutes. Let it
cool with a glass over it before you place the cap on it.
Once you have a spore print on the paper, remove the glass and cap.
Fold the spore print in half and seal the edges so air can not get in. A
piece of scotch tape on each side will do nicely. The spores will stay
viable for 18 months if they are kept in a cool, dry and dark spot. If
you place a small amount of desiccant in the bottom of a film container
and place a cotton ball on top of the desiccant, you have an ideal
container to keep the spore print. The cotton ball will keep the
desiccant from touchi Clone flowered under a 400watt, 42watts/sq.ft. Grown organically in a soilless medium, 1:1:1 ratio of GOOD
potting mix, perlite, & worm castings. Finished about 16"-18" tall. Nice high flower to leaf ratio, manicuring would
be a breeze if it didn't have so much resin globbed all over it. Nugs were dense for a 400watt, but not tight like
they are under the big lights. I flowered for 53 days, last 24 hours no light. I alternated Big Bloom & Hi-P fishes

flavor, but a STRONG smoke. Very "up" high. I can get a lot done instead of just vegging. By far the best I've

“After years of heartfelt requests for a Northern Lights strain, Sagarmatha has engineered a superior version of
the NL legend. NL#9 delivers the finest qualities expected from that variety: a short plant with a voracious
stone and minimal smell. The flowering time is acceptable and fat chunky nugs can be expected. Fantastic for
gardens where smell is an unfavorable factor. Also fine for persons who desire a heavy, lethargic stone. containing this alkaloid is not difficult to
perform and is perhaps one of the most
strainbase rewarding alchemical processes that one
can attempt. The chemicals required for this process are readily available and
their purchase arouses no suspicion or interest on the part of Government
agencies. The equipment employed is not expensive or particularly complicated
or can be constructed very easily from ordinary household items. The entire
process can be carried out in any kitchen in the matter of hours by following the
instructions below and in the final stages one can verify the success of the
procedure by actually watching the crystals of mescaline precipitate in the
solution. One kilo (2.2 lbs) of dried peyote buttons may yield between 10 and 60
grams of pure white needle crystals of mescaline depending on the potency of
the plants used. On
Hanf
overgrow Hanf average the yield is about 20 grams. The usual underground
price of a kilo of dried peyote ranges between $125 and $250 (25 to 50 cents per
button). From indians in the southwestern USA the price is closer to $50 (10
cents per button). The street price for a gram of pure mescaline is $20 to $30 - if
one is lucky enough to find it. One can obtain from a kilo of dried peyote $200 to
$1200 worth of mescaline. If San Pedro is employed on may anticipate a yield of
3 to 12 grams of mescaline per kilo of dried cactus. One can legally
strainbase purchase a
kilo of dried San Pedro for $5 to $10 and from it extract $60 to $250 worth of pure
mescaline.
Grind a kilo of the dried cactus, place this in a large pressure cooker, cover with
distilled water, and boil for 30 minutes. Strain the liquids and save them. Return
the pulp to the pot, add more water and boil again for 30 minutes. Strain the
liquids and combine them with the first strainings.
Repeat this process about five
times or until the pulp no longer has a bitter taste.
Discard the pulp and reduce
the volume of the combined strainings by boiling in an open pot. Do not use
aluminum ware. When the liquids have been concentrated to the thickness of
cream (about one quart), stop the boiling and stir in 400 grams of sodium
hydroxide (lye). This makes the mescaline more soluble in benzene and less in
water. If a large separatory funnel is available pour the liquids into it and add
1600 ml of benzene. Shake the funnel well for five minutes and let it stand for two
hours. If a separatory funnel is not available the process can be carried out in a
one gallon jug with a siphon attached.
After standing for 2 hours the water layer will settle to the bottom and the
benzene layer will float to the top. Between the two layers will be a thin emulsion
layer of mixed water and benzene. Drain off the water and emulsion layers if you
are using a separatory funnel or siphon off the benzene layer if you are using the
makeshift jug-siphon apparatus. Be certain that neither the water or emulsion
layers get into the benzene layer when separating. If any of these layers d
